24:55. HELL YEAH!!!!!
25:22 last weekend. 24:55 this weekend. WOOHOO!!!
And they give awards 5 deep so I even snuck in a 4th place finishers
plaque for my age group. The plaque is cheesy but it's very
meaningful to me. It is a framed drawing of the original race
director and her husband. We lost Wendy to melanoma last year. She
was a huge butt kicker back in 2008 when I was suffering from a hip
flexor injury. I couldn't walk without a limp but she would not let me
wallow in self pity. Instead she made me part of her race staff which
forced me to stay active in the sport. Her husband brought the race
back this year and I couldn't be more proud to get an award (and a new
5K PR by another 26 seconds!) at her race.
